DWQR Auditing Water Treatment Works
DWQR will publish summaries of audit reports.
DWQR has started his annual programme of water treatment works audits, beginning this week with three supplies in Orkney. These audits check that Scottish Water is complying with the Regulations and treating water to the highest standard. DWQR looks at the condition of the treatment works and how it is being operated, as well as making sure that any risks to water quality are being controlled via a Drinking Water Safety Plan.
Any points of best practice are noted, alongside any deficiencies. Where necessary DWQR will make recommendations to Scottish Water concerning improvements that need to be made, and will monitor to check the necessary actions are taken. DWQR will publish summaries of these audits to enable consumers to see how their local treatment works has performed.
