I am a domestic consumer and Scottish Water provides my water

Most homes in Scotland (97%) are on the public water supply and receive their drinking water from Scottish Water. This water has been treated to make it safe to drink and has to meet stringent regulations.

Scottish Water undertakes about 350,000 tests every year on samples of water taken at water treatment works, storage points and consumers’ homes to verify that the water quality meets these standards. DWQR checks the results of these tests and makes sure that any failures are thoroughly investigated.

This section allows you to see how many of these tests met the required standard at a national level and in your local water supply. It contains answers to many of the questions that you may have about drinking water, describes how to contact DWQR, and how we can help.
