River Ugie – March 2008

The DWQR commissioned a report entitled “An investigation into the influence of the voluntary initiative on pesticide concentration in the river Ugie catchment and at Forehill Water Treatment Works. This report has now been received by the DWQR and is being published to allow the information contained within the report to be considered by a wider audience.

Drinking Water in Scotland: Consumer Perceptions and Experiences

This research was commissioned by the Scottish Government on behalf of the DWQR. It aimed to explore peoples’ attitudes to drinking water quality; what was likely to make them complain about the quality of the drinking water and, just as importantly, what might prevent them from making a complaint. The research also tests public awareness and expectations of Scottish Water and the DWQR.

Development of Drinking Water Safety Plans in Scotland

This research explored the use of the Drinking Water Safety Plan approach to assure the safety and acceptability of the drinking water supply, and suggested ways in which the methodology might be applied to different types of supply in Scotland.
