Sampling and Analytical Services Audits
Scottish Water undertakes hundreds of thousands of tests on drinking water samples every year at its four laboratories. These samples verify that the water produced at treatment works and supplied to consumers complies with the standards set out in the regulations. DWQR undertakes regular inspections of the way in which Scottish Water collects, transports and analyses water samples to ensure that the results reported truly reflect the quality of the water supplied. The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) also inspects Scottish Water's analytical services to ensure that they comply with the Drinking Water Testing Specification and BS 17025.
