Information Letters

These are DWQR and Scottish Ministers’ main means of formally communicating with Scottish Water and setting out regulatory expectations or guidance on specific issues. There are 3 main types of letter:

• Public - These are letters issued to Scottish Water about the public water supplies in Scotland.

• Private - These are letters issued to local authorities about how they regulate private water supplies in Scotland.

• Regulation 27 - These are letters issued to Scottish Water concerning the approvals system for products and processes, administered for the UK by the Drinking Water Inspectorate in Engalnd and Wales.
